I took this probably around 2007 or 2008, and yup, it's a cheap alloy with a fake rotor attached to it. I assume that there's a drum brake behind all this phony business since it was an old Mazda 323F.

I don't hate it, I wish they were a little more real looking by having a caliper on there but if you're gonna have the big rims on there you might as well take up that gap.

The problem is, the caliper would have to spin with the rim. That's not very realistic. It'd also make it completely unbalanced.

Two calipers then! One on either side of the "rotor" to balance it. Might as well make it as ridiculous as possible.
